I’m new to all this so I have a bunch of questions.
I would like apply opaque green resin to two areas on a belt buckle I make from 1/8in stainless steel plate. The area for the resin is cut 1/16in into the face of the plate.
First what resin do I use?
Can I mix color tints to get the exact green color I want?
Can I simply attach/seal some silicone strips to the edges and pour the resin in until its flush with the surface?
Can I sand and the resin afterwards to round he edges? What do I use to sand and polish resin?
Will the resin adhere well and permanently to the stainless steel if the stainless is lightly abraded and chemically cleaned?
Here is a link showing the green areas of the buckle where the resin will be applied and photos of the actual buckle blanks before the green areas are milled 1/16in to accommodate the resin.
