Adding layers of resin to air dry clay

      Hi I have a piece of completely dried air dry clay. Shaped like a cabochon.
      I want to add depth to the piece .
      It’s for a pendant .
      Can I add layers of resin to create that effect?
      I read other posts about sealing the air dry clay first.
      Would that interact with the resin?
      Wouldn’t the resin become the sealant?
      Is UV resin preferable ?
      Thanks for your insight and help.

      Newbie to working resin.
