So, I’ve made a few charcuterie sets lately. Each has a cutting board, free form bowl, wine bottle opener and 4-piece cheese knife set. Each also has coordinated embellishments. It was easy to put the materials IN the resin making up the bowls. It was also easy to glue these onto the cutting boards before sealing with a flood coat. The problem I’m having is with sealing the bamboo knife handles with these items on them. The first set had flat backed marbles on each side of handles. I decided to tape them up, embed the sharp metal into a piece of pool noodle, and coat the handles as I spun them on tumbler turners. Meh…I’m not entirely happy with how thick & uneven the resin layer turned out. I’m not sure if coating one side at a time would give uniform results either. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting an even, uniform layer of resin when sealing non-flat cheese knife handles?
