GuestHi!
I just poured my first resin projects last night. I wake up to find spheres are milky cloudy white, full of bubbles, and my elements all sank and congregated on the bottom. VERY discouraged (I’m a tad perfectionist, I’ll get over it!)
I’ve read most of your trouble shooting tips and I think I can fix the clouds a bubbles (I hope!) but I can’t figure out how to lay my elements.
My ultimate goal is to make a sphere necklace for my mom. We lost both our horses this past year and I have little braids I’ve made from pieces of mane that we kept, and wanted to case in a sphere pendant.
I appreciate any advice and assistance, thanks!

KeymasterHi Tara,
It sounds like you need to pour in layers. How big are your spheres?

GuestHi Katherine!
They are medium in size. Small sphere for earrings, two pendant sizes each a tad larger from the first.
I did layer, but I think I was afraid the resin would harden and it would be wasted. I didn’t realize I could actually wait longer than 10/15 minutes per layer.
I’ve purchased the book and I’m reading to learn more. I’m so glad I found your site!!

GuestI chose a beautiful metallic dye for my project and was totally happy with the colours but the metallic particles sank to the bottom so I kept stirring it and 20 minutes later most of the metallic particles were again sunk to the bottom. Are the particles just too heavy or possibly not enough pigment to saturate the epoxy?

KeymasterHi Keith,
It sounds like the particles are too heavy.
