I want to build my son a cool desk with a fire and ice theme. Half and half with it kind of meshing in the center. All lit with led lights. I can do the epoxy and lighting, but what materials did they use for the effects? The fire one looks like burnt wood coals maybe? little colored epoxy and led lights?
Not sure what is in the blue one but it looks perfect for what I have in mind.
Any help would be awesome! I’m not the best artist! lol

Hi Bill, if I were going to recreate these, here’s what I would do:

The first table (with the red) looks like someone created a rock formation in between the two wood sections that is illuminated from underneath. I would make that first, then fill in the area with clear resin.

For the blue table, it looks a similar process, except the artist also included blue glow in the dark powder. (We have that here: https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/colorants/products/day-glow-in-the-dark-powder-for-resin) It looks like there is also a clear layer on top of ‘blue formation’ as well. What I can’t tell is what created the other colors of blue. Perhaps someone painted them on a 3D surface or created them with resin mixed with blue (i.e. resin painting), but it’s hard for me to tell without a closer look.
