Please can anyone recommend a resin that is more resistant to gentle heat? I made a bobbin for my spinning wheel out of Ice Resin. It looks really good, but after a mildly hot British summer I found that the ends had warped and bent. I only had to put it into hand hot water to reshape it back which showed me just how affected it is by heat.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a resin that wouldn’t be so affected by mild temperatures ie. 30 – 40 degrees Centigrade.

I would suggest a polyurethane resin. They can generally withstand heat and friction better than epoxies (like Ice resin). Where in the world are you located?

Thank you so much for your reply. I must admit to being a bit of an experimental resin novice. Is there a polyurethane resin that sets as clear as Ice resin that you could recommend for the job?
I’m in Leicestershire in the UK.

I’m sure there is, but I don’t know of specific brand to recommend to you in the UK.
