I recently ordered a gallon set of resin, the bottles from which for me are difficult to pour (two 1/2 gallon bottles, one of resin and one of hardener). Prior to this set, I had ordered a 16 oz set of a different brand, and each part has about 1/8 or less remaining. Is it possible to fill those smaller bottles with the new resin (part A in part A, part B in part B) or will that alter the effectiveness of each part?? Even if I use up the rest of the prior brand in the smaller bottles first, then fill up those bottles with the new product, I’m unsure if the remnants of the prior brand would ruin the new brand.

      Hi Skylarae,

I appreciate that you don’t want to waste product. I’m a bit thrifty myself!

Unfortunately though, resin and hardeners are specifically designed to go with one another. Components from one brand aren’t compatible with a different brand. I would not pour the large kit into the small bottles since they are different formulas.

If you aren’t going to use the rest of the small kit, this article explains how to dispose of it: https://www.resinobsession.com/resin-frequently-asked-questions/how-to-dispose-of-resin/
